Projet Cersei: La Broderie: Bilan provisoire / Cersei Project: The embroidery: provisional assessment

Hier quelqu'un m'a demandé combien de temps la broderie de la robe m'avait pris jusqu'ici. C'est une excellente question et je dois admettre que je n'avais pas tout mis bout a bout; primo je n'y avais même pas pensé, secundo ça fait un peu flipper vu le nombre d'heures passée sur ce projet.

Voici donc les temps approximatif pour la réalisation de chaque étape de la broderie uniquement (ma mémoire n'étant pas assez bonne pour me rappeler combien d'heures j'ai cousu pour faire la robe en elle-même il y a plusieurs mois):

- La broderie des oiseaux sur organza: 10 h par oiseau, 8 oiseaux en tout (pour en avoir 2 "de secours") donc total: 80 h

- Transformation des broderies sur organza en patch a coudre sur la robe (thermocollant au dos et découpe au plus près de la broderie): 1 h

- Coudre les oiseaux sur la robe (6): 1 h

- Broderie des grosses arabesques en fil métallique: 1 h/par zone, 3 zones faites donc: 3h

- Broderie des arabesques fines, placement des perles et des plumes sur 3 zones: 60 h (ça fait 20 h par zone quand même O.O)

Au final ça représente 145 h de travail sur la décoration!

C'est beaucoup!

Mais au final ça en vaut la peine et même si le chiffre total paraît effrayant le résultat n'en est que plus gratifiant :)

Yesterday someone asked me how long embroider the dress took me. This is an excellent question and I must admit that I had count till now; firstly I had not even thought, secondly it's a little scaring to realise the number of hours spent on this project.

Here are the approximate time for completion of each part of the embroidery... only the embroidery (my memory is not good enough to remember how many hours I sewed to the dress itself 'cause there are several months ago):

- Embroidery of birds on Organza: 10 h per bird, 8 birds in total (2 are in case of "rescue") so total: 80 h

- Transformation of embroideries of birds on organza in patch to sew on the dress (thermo back and cut as close as possible of the embroidery): 1 h

- Sew birds on the dress (6): 1 h

- Embroidery big arabesques with metallic thread: 1 h/zone, 3 areas so be: 3h

- Embroidery fine arabesques, placement of beads and feathers on three areas: 60 hours (that's 20 hours per area!!! O.O)

In the end it is 145 hours of work on decoration!

That's a lot!

But in the end it is a good thing and even if the total seems scary the result is always the most beautifull rewarding :)
