Mon jupon second empire - My civil war petticoat

Comme évoqué hier on va reprendre les bonnes habitudes et parler de l'étape suivante de ma tenue: le jupon!

Le jupon c'est souvent le mal aimé quand on débute dans le costume histo ou non; ça se voit pas, on se dit que personne ne verra qu'il n'y en a pas et au final.... Ben non seulement ça se voit mais en plus ça se voit bien qu'il n'est pas là!

D'une on voit les baleines des soutients sous les jupes (une crino dans le cas qui nous occupe mais c'est vrai aussi avec les paniers 18ème et les queues d'écrevisse fin 19ème) et de deux les jupes ne glissent pas sur les supports comme elles devraient, elles restent coincées dans les crochets, les boutons, les plis etc et c'est pas joli!

Alors, sache le Lecteur, le jupon c'est ton ami! Le jupon y en a beaucoup comme lui mais ton jupon c'est ton vrai copain! (celui ou celle qui saura d'où ça vient gagnera... Toute mon estime et un bisou sur chaque oreille si on se croise un jour)

As tell yesterday I will take back the good habits and speack about the next step of my outfit: the petticoat!

The petticoat is often the bad-loved-one when beinning with costumes historical or not; you dont see it, you tell yourself no one will notice they're not there but... Everyone notice it!!! We can see it!

First we see the boning trough the skirt (a crinoline in that case but it is also true with 18th century panier and 19th century lobster tail) and, two, the skirt doesn't move as they must, staying stuck into hoocks, buttons, etc on the parts under the skirt and it is entirely ugly!

So knows it Readerthe petticoat is your true frien! The petticoat there is a lot exactly like him but YOUR petticoat is your only true friend!

Comme la crinoline le jupon est cousu sur un monte-jupe baleiné.

C'est pratique et ça a un bon maintient!

J'ai décoré un peu le tout avec une dentelle ancienne crochetée et un ruban fin d'une couleur un peu "flash".

La crinoline ayant une circonférence de 4.3 m j'ai "un peu" abusé sur la circonférence du jupon... J'ai misé sur  5.5 m de circonférence pour être sûre qu'il ne serre pas la crino même si il venait à rétrécir au lavage.

Oui... J'abuse un peu niveau proportion mais si c'est pour faire une petite crino avec un petit jupon le tout dans le but d'avoir un petit volume correspondant d'avantage à l'esthétique moderne plutôt qu'a celle de l'époque ça ne servirait à rien de faire ce projet... Donc voila!
