Un manteau vert! / A green coat!

Salut à toi Lecteur!

Il commence a faire frais, même très frais le matin et le soir! Les manteaux seront de sorties d'ici une voire deux semaines.

J'admets que cela fait un an que j'ai envie d'un nouveau manteau. Je le voulais vert mais je ne savais pas quelle coupe choisir.

J'ai acheté 6 mètres de caban vert sur le site des Coupons Saint Pierre et je les ai stockés amoureusement en espérant trouver Ze idée lumineuse!

Les idées viennent toujours de façon tout a fait inattendue, là elle est venue en regardant un film que je DETESTE!!! Ce film c'est Les sentiers de la gloire de Stanley Kubrick (sortit en 1957). Ce film raconte l'histoire de soldats fusillés pour désertion et ce juste pour l'"exemple" durant la première guerre modiale. Ils n'ont rien a se reprocher mais ils vont mourir quand même. C'est déprimant, c'est sombre et il n'y a absolument aucun espoir (surtout quand on connait la fin).

Comme je déteste le film j'ai laissé mon fiancé le regarder seul, je ne passais qu'épisodiquement devant la télévision mais... Pendant un de mes passages j'ai vu le grand méchant du film (un général imbécile au cœur de pierre) qui se pavanait dans son manteau et ... J'ai trouvé qu'il avait la classe!!!

Au final j'ai fini le film en espérant revoir le fameux manteau!

Du coup j'ai fais quelques recherches, j'ai trouvé pas mal de photos d'uniformes d'époque et j'ai décidé de me faire mon manteau vert en m'inspirant des uniformes belges de la guerre de 14!

Sur Ebay je suis tombée sur un lot de 24 boutons fabriqués pour l'armée belges en 1917. Ils sont en laiton (je crois) et sont en parfait état. J'aime l'idée d'utiliser ces boutons. Ils ont été fait pour équiper un soldat, soldat qui les a peut être porté et moi, petite cousette vivant un siècle plus tard, je vais leur donner une seconde vie; ça a un petit côté magique!

Je réfléchis toujours aux détails que je vais conserver mais la coupe sera cintrée au niveau de la taille, longueur au genoux, avec une ceinture (en tissus ou en cuir) et un pli d'aisance au dos (peut être prolongé jusqu'aux omoplates.

Reste à me décider pour le boutonnage (simple ou double), la forme du col et les détails inspirés des uniformes à inclures au projet.

Puis si il me reste assez de tissus je ferais bien une pèlerine mobile (comme sur certains uniformes français???... Pas sûre de l'origine en fait mais j'aime assez le concept).

Je vais travailler sur un croquis de tout ça et mettre les avancées sur ce blog.

Weather getting cool even very fresh in the morning and evening! The coats will be take out of the closets by one or two weeks.

I admit that I want a new coat. I wanted a green one but I did not know what cut choose.

I bought 6 meters of green caban on the site of Coupons Saint Pierre and I lovingly stored it hoping to find THE idea!

Ideas always come unexpectedly, she came there watching a movie that I HATE !!! This film is Paths of Glory of Stanley Kubrick (1957). This film tells the story of soldiers shot for desertion and just for the "example" it happens in the first world war. They have nothing to be ashamed but they will die anyway. It's depressing, it's dark and there is absolutely no hope (especially when we know the end).

I hate the movie so I left my fiance watching it alone, I was watching television sporadically but ... During one of my visits I saw the big villain of the film (a silly general with a heart of stone ) who strutted in his coat and ... I found that he had the class !!!

In the end I finished the movie hoping to review the famous coat!

So I did some research, I found many pictures of vintage uniforms and I decided to make my green coat inspired me with Belgian uniforms of war 14-18!

Ebay is my friend and on it I found a batch of 24 buttons made for the Belgian army in 1917. They are made of brass (I think) and are in perfect condition. I like the idea of using these buttons. They were made to equip a soldier, a soldier who can be worn and me, little seamstress living a century later, I'll give them a second life; it has a little magic side!

I always think about the details but I know that the cut will be bent at the waist, knee length, with a belt (of fabric or leather) and a pleat at the back (can be extended to the shoulder blades) .

It remains to decide for the fastening (single or double), the shape of the collar and details inspired uniforms to include it in the project.

Then if I have enough fabric I will make a mobile cape (like on some French uniforms ??? ... Not sure of the origin but in fact I like the concept).

I'm working on a drawing of it and put the progress on this blog.
