Une rénovation c'est un peu comme une boîte de chocolat.../ Renovating a house is like a chocolate box...

... On ne sait jamais sur quoi on va tomber!

Bonjour Lecteur!

Cela fait trop longtemps que je n'ai rien posté mais comme vous le savez mon fiancé et moi-même rénovons notre future maison.

La rénovation est une maîtresse exigeante (et un peu pénible sur les bords), on sait quand on commence mais jamais quand ça se termine et, à l'instar de tout les travaux que l'on peut faire dans une maison, il y a toujours des retards.

C'est ce qui nous arrive actuellement, le gros oeuvre a prit du retard et nous sommes donc tous bloqués (nous, l'électricien, ...) alors on attend... On attend... Et on attend encore...

Mais on peut comparer une maison a rénover à ce meuble qu'on voit en photo ci-dessus. Le bois est de belle qualité, travaillé, stylé et il a été superbe à une époque; le temps a passé, la poussière s'est installée dessus, un peu de paille aussi (après tout c'est une ferme) et quelqu'un se rappelle qu'il est là, prenant la poussière. Reste a retirer la poussière, le réparer, le bichonner et lui rendre son lustre d'antan.

C'est exactement notre but mais à l'échelle d'un bâtiment!

Je comparais notre rénovation à une boîte de chocolat, parfois on tombe sur un chocolat délicieux et parfois c'est cette immonde cerise baignant dans du mauvais alcool qu'on ose pas recracher parce qu'on est chez mamy.

Alors au début on a cumulé les cerises à l'alcool..

Entre-sols pourris (on a fait tomber un tournevis sur le plancher et il l'a traversé... 25 cm de chêne intégralement pourri... et on marchait dessus), poutres et linteaux pourris,... Voila le programme de cet été.

Cet Automne le menu était plus diversifié: problème de plomberie, problème de chape, pose d'une cuisine incomplète (erreur dans la livraison)

Et cet hiver c'est le pompom sur la cerise sur le gâteau! Une chape de finition (la belle bien plate sur laquelle on pose le carrelage) qui a gelé et s'est donc fendue! Le carrelage choisi qui n'était disponible nulle part! Puis le nouveau carrelage n'était pas droit et.... L'entrepreneur s'est blessé!

Ai-je précisé que ce monsieur travaille seul?

Il travaille d'ailleurs fort bien, ce qui est fini est magnifique mais lui à l'arrêt, plus rien ne se fait!

Au milieu de tout ça on tombe parfois sur une perle, une praline au goût doux et sucré qui nous rappelle pourquoi on la mange cette boîte de chocolat!

It's been too long since my last article but, as you know, my Fiancé and I are renovating our future house.

Renovating is a capricious lover, we know when we began but never when will it stop and, like any other works in a house, there are always bad news that pushed further the end of it.

That's what happened now, the big works are late and we are all stucked (us, the electrician,...) so we wait... Wait... And... Wait... Again...

But we can compare a house that must be renovated with the piece of furniture show in the top of this article. Wood is wonderfull quality, worked, styled and in a certain time it was gorgeous; time passes, dust comes and stays on it, straw too (it's a farm) and after someone remembers it is there, right under the dust. Must take off all the dust, fix it, make it beautifull again and make it gorgeous once again.

That's exactly what we want to do but on the scale of an entire house!

I was speacking about a chocolate box, sometimes we have a very good chocolate and sometimes it is this awfull cherry marinating into this bad alcohol and we cannot spit it because it's grandma's house.

In the beginning there was only these f***ing cherries in alcohol.

Floor in wood entirely rotten (a tool fell on this floor and cross it like there was nothing... 25 cm of oak entirely rotten and... We were walking on it), also yarn-beam and lintels rotten... What a wonderfull summer menu!

This autumn was more "fun": Problem of plumbing, problem of screed, installation of an incomplete kitchen (error in the delivery)

And this winter it was the pompom on the cherry on the cake! A screed of finishing (the beautiful flat one which we puts the tile on) has frozen and thus split! The selected tile was not available anywhere! Then the new tile was not straight and .... The contractor got hurt!

Did I say that this gentleman works alone?

He works very well, what is finished is pretty beautiful but when he stopped, nothing is done!

In the middle of all this we, sometimes, fall on a pearl, a tender and sweet taste praline that reminds us why we eat this box of chocolate!

L'état ce cette peinture murale laisse certes à désirer mais une fois restaurée ça va apporter un cachet fou!

Ce genre de surprise nous fait aimer encore plus cette maison avec laquelle nous avons eu le coup de foudre fin novembre  2015!

Tu l'auras compris Lecteur, nous ne serons pas installés demain, nous n'y serons même sans doute pas pour les fêtes de fin d'années (chose que j'espérais ardemment).

Mon atelier est dans de multiple cartons, je ne crée donc rien mais par contre je pense et je fais des recherches!

Je suis en plein dans la conception de ma tenue pour le prochain Trolls et Legendes! Oui, je sais c'est en avril 2017 mais j'ai déjà le tissus et quasiment toutes les pièces vintages que je voulais y intégrer. Une fois installée je n'aurais qu'a commencer a peaufiner le design général sur mon mannequin parce que là tout est stocké dans ma tête et sur le disque dur de mon ordinateur.

Je commencerais a aborder cette tenue début janvier 2016 avec l'explication de l'idée de départ ainsi que du concept général.

The state this wall painting is pretty bad but once restored it will bring a a beautifull spirit to this house!

This kind of surprise makes us love even more this house with which we had a crush at the end of November 2015!

You will have understood Reader, we will not be installed tomorrow, we will not even be there for the holidays of the end of years (something I hoped ardently).

My workshop is in multiple bags and parcels, so I do not create anything but I think and I do research!

I am in the design of my outfit for the next Trolls and Legendes! Yes, I know it is in April 2017 but I already have the fabric and almost all the vintage pieces that I wanted to integrate to it. Once installed I would have only to begin to refine the general design on my mannequin because everything is stored in my head and on the hard disk of my computer.

I would begin to speack more seriously about this at the beginning of January 2016 with the explanation of the starting idea as well as the general concept.
