Couture pour animaux / Sewing for animals

Bonjour Lecteur!

Même si je montre de la couture pour humain il m'arrive de coudre de petites choses pour les animaux, les miens (chats) et ceux de mon fiancé (rats domestiques).

Au début j'étais très réticente au fait qu'il adopte des rats, je visualisais les horribles rats d’égouts énormes et sales mais la première rencontre a été un coup de foudre!

Mon fiancé a ramené deux adorables et minuscules boules de poils tout doux (une blanche et noire et une blanche et beige) et depuis, malgré leurs vies trop courtes, nous en avons en continu!

Parti de deux ratous, nous en avons adoptés deux de plus, puis encore un et encore un autre etc pour au final arriver à un total de 7 (mais ça peut varier entre les décès des plus vieux et l'arrivée de petits) vivant tous dans une grande cage d'un mètre cube!

Cette cage nécessite des aménagements, des cachettes, des hamacs pour dormir, des morceaux de tissus pour la "construction" d'abri plus ou moins temporaire, etc.

Selon la saison et les besoin il m'arrive donc de fabriquer de petites choses pour eux. C'est souvent des hamacs, ils coûtent assez cher en animalerie et sont rapidement détruits par les animaux (d'où le fait que je ne fais pas de jolies finition... 10 jours plus tard tout est en lambeaux). Ces hamacs sont en coton en été et en coton et tissus chaud quand il fait plus frais. J'en profite pour faire des essais avec ma machine à coudre, test de quilting, matelassage, etc pour solidariser les différentes couches.

Pour recommencer l'année en douceur j'ai fais un petit stock de hamacs d'hiver et je t'en montre un! En bas de l'article se trouve une photo, un jeune ratou trône fièrement dans son tout nouveau hamac rouge et noir en tissus doux et chaud. Il a l'air d'apprécier la chose (pour preuve on est a J + 15 de la date de prise de photo et le hamac est toujours intact!!!)!

C'était donc mon petit travail de reprise après avoir récupéré ma machine à coudre!

Even if I show sewing for humans I also sew for pets, mine (cats) and the ones of my fiancé (fancy rats).

First I was afraid by adopting rats, imagining the horrible and dirty sewers rats but the first meeting was a crush!

My fiancé bring for the pet shop two cute little balls of soft fur (one white and black and a second white and beige) and since, even with theyr too short lives, we have ratties everytime at home!

Basically we wera having two of them, but we adopted two more and then a another one etc to comes to an amount of seven raties now (it change quick because of the deaths of the older and the coming of young ones) living in a huge cage of a cubic meter!

This cage need some "furniture", hiding placesn hammocks, pieces of fabric for the "building" of "house" that will stay in a corner for one or two days, etc.

Depending of the season I made little things for them. It's often hammocks, theyre expensive in pet shop and the animals destroy them verry fast (so I dont made beautifull finish... they, the most of time, destroy in the week that follow theyr installations). These hammocks are in coton in summer and in coton and warm fabric during the colder parts of the year. I use them to try some new thing like quilting for exemple to sew together the differents layers of fabrics.

To began gently this year I made a little stock of winter hammocks and I'll show you one! In the bottom of the article there is a picture showing a young ratie into his brand new red and black hammock in warm fabric. It seems to appreciate it (to proof it the hammok is still in good state even if it's into the cage since more than a week)!

So it was the first sewing thing made after the return of the sewing machine!
